On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, December 13, 14, and 15, 2001, L’Etoile Salon in the Pavillion in Jenkintown, PA hosted Lois for three days of book signings. Hair stylist Stephen Bressler spent two hours doing a makeover of Lois, putting in blond curls to resemble Sophie Tucker. Lois also wore Sophie-type dress, rings, a tiara and boa, and displayed a signature cigarette holder. One of Lois’ first excursions with Sophie was to go to Tucker’s beautician so Lois could get a new hairstyle.

Given one-minute to describe her book at Authors Night at Barnes & Noble in Willow Grove, PA on November 6, 2001, Lois wore a boa and held a cigarette holder and recited one of Sophie Tucker’s common lectures as a Tucker song played in the background. The act brought the house down.

Monday, November 5, 2002, Lovett Memorial Library in Mt. Airy section of Philadelphia.

Lois was very well-received at her two appearances at The Philadelphia Jewish Book Festival on October 30, 2001 at Beth El in Yardley, PA, and on October 31, 2001 at the JCC Kaiserman Branch in Wynnewood, PA. Her engagement at the Kaiserman Branch drew 100 people, more than they ever had at an event there.
